2006 IRC FUNDAMENTALS MECHANICAL, FUEL, GAS, PLUMBING, and ELECTRICAL PROVISIONS

 

Examines critical concepts of the mechanical, plumbing and fuel gas provisions located in the 2006 International Residential Code (IRC). Provides a basis for the correct use and application of the code. Builds an understanding of the intent of the code through detailing basic tables and categorizations.

 

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

 

* Locate general topics in the 2006 IRC

* Locate applicable tables in the 2006 IRC

* Apply code requirements to clear-cut cases

* Explain the intent behind a given code requirement

* Use judgment to identify and resolve borderline scenarios

2006 IBC FUNDAMENTALS STRUCTURAL PROVISIONS

 

Examines structural provision requirements of the 2006 International Building Code (IBC). Addresses major elements including structural design, structural tests and special inspections, soils and foundations, concrete, masonry, steel and wood.

 

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

 

* Discuss administrative requirements pertaining to structural provisions

* Identify definitions associated with structural provisions

* Discuss structural design requirements

* Describe structural tests and special inspections requirements

* Discuss soil and foundation requirements for constructing buildings

* Discuss requirements of structural materials used in the construction of buildings or structural components
