The NCBO&I Renegades

RESOLUTION 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FORMAL ESTABLISHMENT
OF A STANDING COMMITTEE WITHIN THE
NEBRASKALAND CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND INSPECTORS

WHEREAS, The Nebraskaland Conference of Building Officials and Inspectors shall have a standing committee to be known as the Regional Lunch Liasons; and

WHEREAS, The Regional Lunch Liasons shall include the eastern contingent, commonly known as the "Renegades" which has been meeting informally since 1991, as well as any and all other sub-groupings of NCBO&I members who gather for lunch; and

WHEREAS, The purpose of this standing committee is to provide an exchange in fellowship of knowledge, activities, mutual concerns, and other similar relationships between jurisdictions that are of close proximity; and

WHEREAS, The scope of this standing committee is to provide to various jurisdictions a means of accommodating their various Building Officials and their other Code Inspectors the opportunity of exchange in a committee format; and

WHEREAS, The sub-groupings within this committee shall, undoubtedly, reach concensus on code interpretations/applications for their respective areas, that, although not legally binding on anyone, may be of interest to other members of NCBO&I; and

WHEREAS, The sub-groupings within this committee may have the opportunity to research in depth a new product or method of construction and be able to offer valuable information to other members of NCBO&I for the purpose of determining its acceptability in their own respective jurisdictions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Nebraskaland Conference of Building Officials & Inspectors hereby formally establishes this standing committee, thereby legitimizing the informal gatherings of the "Renegades" and encouraging the development of other similar contingents, and authorizes such sub-committees to collect monies for mailings; create their policies; establish their leadership in their meetings; and allow them to share their wisdom with the remainder of the members at the statewide quarterly meetings.

This Resolution is Approved and Adopted on this 25th day of April, 1996.
